Golden Acres, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development is a 1 hectare span of freshly situated home for the aged and the elderly or senior citizens. They admit senior citizens in the facility aged 60 years old and above.

The DSWD is the agency of the government assigned to take care of the elderly inside the facility and these people may either be those who were abandoned, left alone by relatives or those who are neglected and in need of shelter, food and caring.
