Since our first venture in charity works seven (7) years ago our contribution and support for our kababayans here and back home has grown and strengthened year on year.  Each year a charity has been selected having been nominated by the members, officers and supporters.  The chosen charity will be the beneficiary for a period of one year or two.  Members and supporters alike exercise their right to choose one of the many charities in the Philippines and from the list, the top choice will be declared the beneficiary.

In the spirity of transparency, the PNC102 officers encourage members to join them in visiting the chosen charities and share the joy of giving hope and love to our less fortunate kababayans.

Last April 2009, PNC102 officers and members headed by VP for External Affairs, Bong Bueta and his family, former PNC102 President Richard Villanueva, Board of Director Rey Sanchez and member Rey Mantua visited Pangarap Foundation,located at Pasay City and personally gave our cash donations and boxes of goods which include cooking oil, noodles, laundry soap, milk, biscuits, can goods, etc.

PINOY NETTES PICK NEW OFFICERS FOR 2008 SEASON

Riyadh - Bihira pra sa isang samahan ang nagtatagal, lalong dumarami ang mga miyembro na tila punong kahoy na tuloy ag pagyabong pero hindi pinupukol dahil sa mabuting mga layunin. Ganito ang Pinoy Netters Club 102 (PNC102). Umabot na ang grupo ng limang taon mula ng pagkakatatag noong 2002 at lalong nadagdagan ang mga gustong sumali. Mula 11 ay umabot ito ngayon sa mahigit 100 kasapi.

"Layunin ng samahan na magkaroon ng tennis club na magbibigay sigla sa pagkakaibigan ng mga manlalarong Pilipino sa Riyadh at upang buksan ang puso ng bawat isa sa kahandaang tumulong sa boluntaryong paraan," sabi ni Albin Guinto, ang unang Pangulo ng club. Namumpa sa katungkulan ang mga bagong opisyal ng PNC102 noong nakaraang Biyernes sa Siteen Hotel. Si Attache' Rosario Malicse ang Inducting Officer at panauhing pandangal si Vice Consul Roussel Reyes.

Sa pagbabalik-tanaw ni Guinto, nagsimula umano ang grupo mula sa kanya, kay Gem Beringuel, Edwin Peleo at walong iba pa na siyang nagbalangkas ng batas at panuntunan ng club. "Sa ngayon umabot na sa halos 150 members ang samahan sa nakalipas na limang taon samantalang boluntaryo ang paraan ng pagtanggap ng mga nais sumali," dagdag pa ni Guinto.

Mula sa pinakaunang tournament noong Enero 2003, ang 1st Pinoy Double's Challenge, nasundan agad ito ng Pinoy Cup na ngayon ay kilalang "Sinag Pinoy" bilang pagbibigay pugay sa kasarinlan ng Pilipinas. Kabilang din ang Mabuhay Cup na naging Bayanihan Cup, na itinuturing na anniversary tournament ng PNC102.

Nagsagawa din ng Tennis Clinic nag PNC102 sa mga nais matuto at mahasa ang kasanayan sa larong"minahal" na nila. Taunan ang pagdaraos ng nominasyon at halalan ng PNC102. Sa nakaraang edisyon ng "Pinoy Halalan" tumayo bilang Chief Electoral Officer si Peter Rosul sa tulong ng mga commissioners na sina Al Gatbunton, Rino Larena at Ernest Lorenzana.

Tumaon sa Bonifacio Day ang ginanap na paggagawad ng Bayanihan Cup, ang anniversary at pagtatalaga sa mga bagong kasapi at opisyal ng PNC102 sa taong 2008. Inilipat ni Guinto ang panguluhan kay Dodie Vizcarra. Sina Bernie Ustani at Bong Bueta ang mga bise-presidented Internal at External. Kalihim si Angel Jarobel, Ingat Yaman si Raffy Uy. Maliban kina Guinto, Vizcarra, Bueta, Ustani at Uy, ang bumubuo ng Board of Directors ay sina Richard Villanueva, Angel Aniag, Vic Capulong, Max Lopez, Ver Rubio, Ardie Dioso, Ernan Santiago, Neal Perez, Edgar Estoesta, at Willy Nicolas.

Maliban sa mga proyektong nabanggit, nabuo din ang "Kusang Palo" isang paraan ng pagtulong at walang hinihintay na kapalit. "Ito ay boluntaryo sa parter ng mga manlalaro na nais makatulong sa isang institusyon o indibidwal," paliwanag ni Guinto. Sa loob umano ng limang taon hindi matatawaran ang kontribusyon ng lahat ng nagmamalasakit sa Pinoy Netters. Tulong pinansyal ang ipinagkakaloob ng grupo sa Bantay Bata 163 taun-taon at Golden Acres Home for the Aged na nabisita na rin nila sa loob ng dalawang taon.

Naging mabilis din umano ang pagtugon ng PNC102 sa mga nasalanta ng bagyo sa Pilipinas at maging pagtulong sa mga kapwa OFW na tumakas mula sa kanilang mga salbaheng amo. Naging bahagi din ang PNC102 sa pagtulong sa mga kapwa OFW na sina Gabby Baltazar at Robert Miranda na nagkaroon ng malubhang karamdaman at tulad din ng pag-alala sa mga kasamahang sumakabilang buhay sa pamamagitan ng "Palarong Alay" para sa mga naulila nina Frank Villahermosa at Nonie Adrineda. At ang pinakahuli, ang padalawa ng pamunuan ng PNC102 sa Bahay Kalinga para maghatid ng tulong sa mga kababaihang OFW.

"Tunay na hindi matatawaran ang mga sama-samang pagtutulungan," sabi ni Jun Florez, PNC102 member. Di naman nag-atubiling sumali sa grupo si Rey Atienza noong unang slata niya sa Riyadh mula Abha, dahil umano napanood niya ang Pinoy Netters sa The Filipino Channel (TFC) at ang mga proyektong isinasagawa ng club.

Ang kasiyahan ng samahan at tulungan ng bawat isa ang nakita ni Jason Arca, apat na buwan pa lamang sa Riyadh at "first-timer" sa PNC102.

At bilang pagkilala sa mga nagawa ng samahan ilalabas ng club ang isang yearboook sa susunod na taon kung saan ang mga larawan ng lahat ng kasapi, panulat at lahat ng mga kaganapan sa loob ng limang taon ng pagkakatatag ng samahan ay mababasa at makikita.

"Patuloy pa rin kaming tutulong sa iba pang institusyon sa Pilipinas kung saan ang pagpili ay mula sa mga mungkahi ng mga kasapi ng PNC102," pagtatapos ni Guinto.

“We are the champion, my friends!” - Nueva Ecija Netters by Edgar Polinar

Riyadh – It’s definitely ‘no time for losers’ for Nueva Ecija as the team is currently in a state of jubilation for bagging the championship crown in the recently concluded Sinag Pinoy Cup 2007 held at the Al-Yamamah Hotel Tennis Courts here.


The road to victory was an easy one for Nueva Ecija. As the tournament’s perennial leader, the championship crown was already sealed in their favor after their penultimate game against Manila when they enjoyed a commanding lead of 27 points against their closest rival, by that time, an impossible feat for any team to beat.

It was a different story for the rest of the other nine competing teams. With a slim margin of set-point difference from each other, seven teams had equal chances making it to the final three (3) runners-up, enough reason for anticipated closed and heated fights among them. In the end, Bulacan showed their superiority over the rest when they won an exciting neck to neck battle against Pampanga (43-38) (3-3). That remarkable achievement enabled Bulacan secured the first runner-up trophy with 288-26 points, a two set-point advantage over closest rival Malolos. Determined not to be left behind, Team Malolos gave their best when they humbly crushed Manila 45-32 (4-2) enough to bring home the second runner-up honors with a total of 286-26 points. Batangas accumulated 283-22 points, enough for them grabbed the third runner-up honors, despite losing their final game to Manila (39-44) (1-5). Pampanga almost made it to the magic 4 with a slim 3-point deficit against Batangas team.

Most of the tournament’s Best Player awardees on different categories literally fought their way until the end since there were no clear winners before the last games. B1 Best Player Alfred Pastolero lost his 6th game but regained composure when he, together with partner Abdulaziz Manzano, outclassed the equally fearsome duo of Jojo Ramirez and Mike Reyes (8-7). Zali Tadina, B2 Best Player, made it when top seeded Raffy Uy and Jojo Ramirez lost their respective games. In B6 category, Bernie Ustani bravely battled the number 1 ranked Angel Aniag, trailing 2-6 before leveling the match at 6-6 and worked hard to upset Aniag in an exciting tiebreaker 8-7.

Another surprise winner, Bernie Vidal, made it when all the other three main contenders lost in their final games. Early favorite tandem of Rey Orfano and Tony Fernandez simply surrendered to the onslaught of Vidal and Ver Rubio, 7-8. Jojo Ingles, who had the every chance snatch the B8 Best Player award, simply vanished into thin air when his game collapsed in the final rounds losing at 6-8. Another hopeful, Allan Bayos who teamed up with Romy Guevarra, lost to consistent Rey Atienza and Max Lopez 6-8.

In celebration of the 109th Philippines Independence day, Pinoy Netters Club 102 organized SINAG PINOY CUP 2007 tournament with Albin Guinto at the helm. SINAG PINOY is an allusion to the ten provinces/cities that fought hard against imperial Spain to regain the nation’s independence. This is also where the ten participating teams got its name.

Awarding of trophies is set today, Friday, 27 July 2007.

LCG-BOOM TARAT2, SPIN TAKUZA ON COURSE FOR CROWN

A CLOSE CALL VICTORY, SKY BLUE CAPTURES BAYANIHAN CUP 2006 (Edgar Polinar)

Riyadh - Tournament's consistent leader Sky Blue triumphed over its closest and fiercest challenger, Khaki, to win this year's prestigious event, Pinoy Netters Bayanihan Cup 2006 recently at the Al Yamama Hotel Tennis Courts here.

Sky Blue garnered a total of (475-42) game points/set points against (470-41) for the Khaki's - a close call victory for Sky Blue.  Khaki put a good fight against Emerald Green in their final match, but victory was looming for the Sky Blue when one of the players of Khaki suffered injury in the game at 3-3 game points each and was eventually won by Emerald Green (8-3).

Sky Blue met Dark Blue in their final match which also proved to be formidable opponent for the Champions. However, the onslaught of Sky Blue's best and seasoned players made the Dark Blue players packing in the end.

Khaki with one of its players injured, eked out a hard-fought victory against the Emerald Green, but was not enough to compensated the five game-point deficit against Sky Blue.  In court 2, Lime Green demolished the White team to capture the second runner-up honors. Emerald Green settled for the final 4th place while the underdog Carnation Pink ended up in the 5th place.

In the same vein, despite Black team's failure in its bid to be in the Magic Five, two of its players made it as Best Players, Rey Lamban (B1) & Jimmy Perfas (B2).  Other Best Players were Romy Leyva & Gerome Corpuz (B3/B4), Angel Oroga & Jigs Garcia (B5/B6), Nelson Martirez & Edgar Estoesta (B7/B8) & Ernie Perez & Ning Bautista (C1/C2).

BAYANIHAN CUP 2006 OPENS TODAY (Edgar Polinar)

Riyadh - For all the finest breed and seasoned tennis aficionados in Riyadh region, all roads would definitely lead them to the Bayanihan Cup Team Tennis Challenge which opens today, September 15, 2006 at the Al-Yamama Hotel Tennis Courts, organized under the auspices of Pinoy Netters Club 102 in celebration of its 4th Year Anniversary.

A total of twelve teams at ten members each signed-up to participated in this year's prestigious event.  The traditional parade of teams in their uniforms, together with their cute muses, signals the start of the month long tournament.  It is scheduled to be played every Thursday and Friday evening.  It employs a unique game format, a first in the Riyadh region, wherein, all players have a chance to compete in the double and single matches.  In the double match, each player can have three partners from different category players in addition to his partner from his assigned category within his team.

As earlyas three weeks or so before today's event, players from different teams practiced rigidly to boost their team's chances in the tournament standing.  Pinoy Netters Club 102 envisaged that this tournament and the previous ones organized by the club would foster close camaraderie among Filipino workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  The club is also deeply committed to lessen, if not to totally getting rid of the negative Filipino trait "kanya kanya" (each man for himself), system which is very prevalent among us, and to develop teamwork and transparency as exemplified through the conduct of every game and the club's mission and objectives.

Indeed, Pinoy netters Club102 , with its current President, Mr. Richard Villanueva, at the helm is deeply honored and privileged to host the Bayanihan Cup 2006, as tennis enthusiasts play and have fun with to some of the finest tennis players we could possibly find in the entire Riyadh Region.

2nd Pinoy Summer Clinic Another Success

The 2nd Pinoy Netters Summer Tennis Clinic culminated, it lasted for 2 months in time for the preparation of the 3rd tournament of the year "The Bayanihan Cup 2006".  The clinic participated by new and old members of the club was a big success and expected to have another one, this time for the intermediate level.

New and old members alike enjoyed learning the basics and drill conducted by PNC102's instructor, Toto Diosana assisted by PNC102 officers.  Before the start of the clinic, participants were give na set of manuals (hardcopies and the one in CD) that can help them prepare once the sessions begin.  Participants will be given certificates after completing eight sessions of two hours each. Golden Acres, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development is a 1 hectare span of freshly situated home for the aged and the elderly or senior citizens. They admit senior citizens in the facility aged 60 years old and above.

The DSWD is the agency of the government assigned to take care of the elderly inside the facility and these people may either be those who were abandoned, left alone by relatives or those who are neglected and in need of shelter, food and caring.

All those basic needs mentioned above were being provided by employees of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) with the use of government funds.
